PERFUME BOTTLE [2012] This project is a fictional branding assignment collaboration between Konstfack and guest teachers Carl Ljungh and Jonas Groth from Formality. Ryanair were the fastest growing airline company in the world year 2012. Yet they are not very likeable. Ryanair is working with trash branding, and it works. The customers don't expect to be treated well, because it's cheap. It's a part of the strategy. So is Michael O'Leary, the chief executive officer of the company and the face of Ryanair. His many nonchalant statements seem to make the company even stronger. All publicity is good publicity, as they say. With the brand information, I were to create a perfume that suited the chosen company's profile. I call my perfume MS Ryanair, referring to when we fill in our personal information when booking a ticket. We can either choose to be Mr/Ms/Mrs, Doctor or Master. Having to choose either of these options is very irrelevant, which makes it funny. I always choose Master. Another interesting thing is that they recently changed their logotype which pictures an angel lying on a harp. To make it look more appealing, in 2009, Ryanair chose to give the angel a bigger butt and larger breasts. I found that very representative of how Ryanair is as a company. Sticking to Ryanair's simple and obvious solutions, I began to 3-dimensionalize their logotype and that’s where the form of Ms Ryanair comes from. I imagine the perfume to be sold among other tax free products on the plane.
